The mission of Pop Warner Little Scholars is to enable young people to benefit from participation in team sports and activities in a safe and structured environment. Through this active participation, Pop Warner programs teach fundamental values, skills and knowledge that young people will use throughout their lives.


By signing I Agree to:


  1. Be responsible for the results my behavior towards teammates, coaches and game officials at all times.

  2. I will not embarrass myself of or the organization by trying to embarrass an opponent.  

  3. Make every attempt to honor the sport by playing within the rules during games and practices.  

  4. Respect the game and not use profanity at any time.  

  5. Agree to put my team first and put forth my best effort on the field in support of team goals.  

  6. Agree to give my best effort in the classroom.


Failure to abide by the aforementioned rules and guidelines listed above will result in disciplinary action. Eastchester Blue Devils Board of Trustees will impose in its sole, absolute, and non-reviewable discretion in all disciplinary action that may include, but is not limited to a: 


  • Verbal warning by Commissioner, Athlectic Director or Board Member.

  • Written warning

  • One game suspension with written documentation of incident kept on file by organization

  • Seasonal suspension and/or permanent expulsion

 


 

Mandatory Disciplinary Actions

  • Any player who attempts to intimidate, verbally abusive, taunts, teases, uses profane language or gestures that are directed at teammates, other players, coaches, officials, volunteers and staff members will receive a verbal warning and may be removed for the balance of the game or practice. A second violation will result in suspension for one week and one game. After a third violation the player will be indefintely suspended from the team and may not attend events until a final disciplinary decision is made by the Disciplinary Review Board.


  • Any player that physically assaults a teammate, opposing player, coach, and official or is ejected from play for any reason will receive a one game suspension. Any further violations will result in dismissal from the team for the balance of the season.

 

Parent Code of Conduct

Children’s sports are supposed to be fun – for the children. Unfortunately, many parents, fans and coaches don’t realize that their actions, whether verbal or nonverbal, can have a lasting emotional effect on children. Too many children are leaving sports activities because the fun is unfairly taken away by adults.

By signing the below I agree: 


  1. I will not force my child to participate.

  2. I will inform the coach of any physical disability or ailment that may affect the safety of my child or the safety of others. 

  3. I (and my guests) will be a positive role model for my child and encourage sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy, and by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, officials and spectators at every game, practice or other event. 

  4. I (and my guests) will not engage or in any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct with any official, coach, player, or other parent such as booing, taunting or using profane language or gestures. 

  5. I will not encourage any behaviors or practices that would endanger the health and well being of the athletes.

  6. I will demand that my child treat other players, coaches, officials and spectators with respect regardless of race, creed, color, sex or ability.

  7. I will never ridicule or yell at my child or other participant for making a mistake or losing a competition.

  8. I will respect the officials and their authority during games and will never question, discuss, or confront coaches at the game field, and will take time to speak with coaches at an agreed upon time and place. 

  9. I will demand a sports environment for my child that is free from drugs, tobacco, and alcohol and I will refrain from their use at all sports events. 

  10. I will refrain from coaching my child or other players during games and practices.


If I fail to abide by the aforementioned rules and guidelines, EBD will impose in its sole, absolute, and non-reviewable discretion, disciplinary action that could include, but is not limited to a: 


  • Verbal warning by official, head coach, or member of the organization

  • Written warning

  • Parental game suspension with written documentation of incident kept on file by organizations involved

  • Parental season suspension and/or permanent expulsion

 


 

Manditory Disciplanary Actions

  • Any parent who is flagrantly rude, attempts to intimidate, verbally abusive, taunts, uses profane language or gestures at other parents, players, coaches, officials, volunteers or board members will receive a verbal warning and may be removed for the balance of the event. A second violation will result in a one week suspension. A third violation will result in explusion for the remainder of the season.


  • Any parent that physically assaults another parent, a player, a coach, and an official will be indefinetly suspended from the organization and may not attend events until a final decision is made by the Disciplinary Review Board.



Coaches Code of C0nduct

Coaches in this organization are held to a standard of behavior that provides a positive environment for a child's sports experience. The Coaches Code of Conduct provides guidelines for the professional behavior of a coach. The main purposes of the code is to secure a standard of coaching and to protect the welfare of individuals. The obligation of a coach is not only to promote, advance and support the athletic career of an individual but also to raise the individual to be good persons with stable notions of values and good behaviors and manners. Illegal, unlawful and harmful behavior toward the athletes on the part of the coach will not be tolerated by the association and will be persecuted with the appropriate means. 

  1. I understand that my first responsibility and duty is to do what is best for our players and our organization.  

  2. I will place the emotional and physical well being of my players ahead of a personal desire to win. 

  3. I will deal fairly with our respective players and parents, as well as the opposition’s players, parents, coaches, and organization. 

  4. I understand that my actions are a direct representation of our association and an example to players and parents alike. 

  5. I will be knowledgeable in the rules of the sport that I coach, and I will teach these rules to my players.

  6. I will use coaching techniques appropriate for all of the skills that I teach. 

  7. I will remember that I am a youth sports coach, and that the game is for children and not adults.

  8. I will do my best to provide a safe playing situation for my players. 

  9. I will do my best to organize practices that are fun and challenging for all my players. 

  10. I will demand that every player treat other players, coaches, officials and spectators with respect regardless of race, creed, color, sex or ability.

Mandatory Disciplinary Actions


I.) Any physicality or verbally inappropriate statements or towards a player, parent, official, oppenent or member of the organization will result in an immediate suspension or dismissal of the coach. 


II.) Any coach dismissed from a game by an official will automatically result in one additional game suspension (must be the next game and will carry over to the next season). Multiple dismissals from a game will result in permanent dismissal as a coach, at the discretion of Disciplinary Review Board.


By signing this form, I agree with the goals and policies set forth in this code and assume my coaching responsibilities based on these guidelines. Furthermore, I affirm that any violation of the Coach’s Code of Conduct, as determined by the Board of Directors, may result in suspension and/or dismissal from all coaching duties.
